"The Martyrdom of Saint Eulalie of Barcelona" from "The Calander of Saints", originally c. 1636, this is a later state, c. 18th century. Etching on chained lined paper, archival mat. Oval cartouche with image, Latin and French text in lower square; "she was ordered to be placed on the cross so that the birds would eat her alive". Probably trimmed, paper apprx 3-13/16" x 2-1/16". De-accessioned property from an important Midwestern museum collection.
