101. Romeyn de Hooghe (Dutch 1645-1708)

A set of four biblical illustrations, later states, c. after 1699. Etchings on chained lined paper, two with text on verso. Lower right image is signed in plate: "Rom. de Hooge Inventor et fecit.-I. Linttenberg Excudit cum Privil.". Lower left image just with "I. Linttenberg Excudit cum Privil.". Each apprx 6" x 7-11/16", probably trimmed. de Hooghe was the most significant Netherlandish engraver in the second half of the seventeenth century. De-accessioned property from an important Midwestern museum collection.
