112. Pancrace Bessa (French 1772-1835)

Two original stiple engravings from "Arbres Fruitiers", finished by hand, drawn by Pancrace Bessa. The first is "Persica vulgaris, Pecher commun", plate number "T.1.No.71", and "Didier sculp", lower right. The second is "Pyrus communis, Poirier commun". plate number "T.2.No.29", and "Jarry sculp" lower right. Bessa was student of Redouté and Van Spaendonck. Measure apprx 16-1/2" H x 10" W. Overall with professional green, short cut velvet over mat,linen mat and gilt filet, overall apprx 21" H x 17-3/4" W.
