Lower corners margins state "Henderson pinx" and "Quilley sculp". Titled in lower center margin "The Dragon Arum, London, Published by Dr. Thornton, July 1, 1811". A volcano is erupting in the background. Added aquatint in foreground and middle distance. Plate size is apprx 14-3/4"H x 11"W. Overall paper size is apprx 15-1/8"H x 12"W. With mat this piece measures apprx 19"H x 15"W.
Created in tribute to Swedish botanist, Linnæus, this presentation of large sized floral prints is considered by many to be the most magnificent such work ever produced.
