The first engraving depicts a man being rolled down a hill in a barrel. Signed and dated c. 1535 in lower left corner. This engraving measures apprx 5" H x 3" W. The second engraving depicts a figure holding a key and reading the alphabet. This is an allegory to the power of knowledge. Measures apprx 3" H x 2-1/4" W. The last engraving of an old woman and measures apprx 1" H x 1-1/4" W. Each engraving features a purple collectors stamp bearing the name "Alfred Hosim". The album paper measures apprx 20" H x 12" W.

Original woodcut, "Die erst figur gehost zu dem erste gegemurt" attributed to Wolgemut and Wilhelm Pleydenwurff for the Franciscan Stephan Fridolin's "Schatzbehalter oder schrein der waren reichtuemer des hails vnnd ewyger seligkeit" in Nuremberg, Germany. This woodcut is dated ca.1491 and numbered 31 in ink in right upper margin. Verso entitled "The suffering of Christ", two columns of German text. Paper apprx 11-1/2" x 8-1/4", image apprx 10" x 7".

Grouping of architectural engravings includes one by Piranesi depicting a section of arches from the Marcello Theatre. Plate size is apprx 17" H x 10" W. Paper size is apprx 20-3/4" H x 15-1/2" W. The next engraving depicts several diagrams of crown molding. Plate size is apprx 15-1/2" H x 10" W with paper size apprx 22-3/4" H x 16-1/4" W. The next engraving is by Girolamo Rossi, which depicts several architectural elements. Plate is numbered XXV in upper right corner and measures apprx 20-1/2" H x 14-1/2" W with paper size measuring apprx 30" H x 20-1/2" W. "Los Caprichos: Obsequio a el Maestro" Plate 47. No visible watermark, cream colored paper. Impression from before the steel facing of the plate, believed to be a fifth edition. The eighty etchings of "Los Caprichos" were the first collection Goya produced for sale as a single set. In 1803, fearful of the Spanish Inquisition, Goya relinquished the plates to Charles IV, in return for a pension for his son. The plates remain with the Calcografia, issued in the ensuing years by that institution. Apprx 8-5/8" x 5-7/8" plate mark. Overall measures apprx 11-7/8" x 9-3/8".
