760. "Napoleon I at St. Helena" Etching, ca. 19th Century

Black and white etching depicts a posthumous image of Napoleon I. This piece has been copied after the original by John Gibbs. Lower right corner is marked "Dave & Son Lithrs to the Queen". The title of this etching, "Napoleon the First at St. Helena" is located in lower center along with the text reading "From the original painting, taken immediately after death by Captain Ibbetson, R.E. Now in the possession of the Reve. I.P. Pitcairn, M.A. Rector of Longsight". Plate size measures apprx 10" H x 11-3/4" W. Overall all size of etching, with frame and mat is apprx 20-1/2" H x 21" W.
