"Ambush", etching and aquatint dated 1939. Publication number 17, made for the Cleveland Print Club. The etching depicts a tiger ready to prey upon a deer in an unusual style that combined elements of Japanese, Chinese, Persian and Indian art. Signed and dated in pencil in lower right corner. Title is located in lower center. Plate size apprx 7" H x 11" W. Paper apprx 10-1/2" H x 16" W. Overall with mat apprx 14-1/4" H x 19-1/4" W. 200/300 Sold $310.50 back to catalog |
