An Old City Street Scene. Watercolor on paper, not signed, archivally matted and framed, 12-1/2" x 9-1/2"; with frame 19" x 16". An "Orientalist" image from an undetermined Middle-Eastern country. A man is carving a block of stone in the foreground, in front of another man with a donkey. Two women who are draped head to ankle in traditional garb walk away toward an arched passage. Great attention has been paid to detail of the architecture as well as the sunlight and shadow characteristic of the locale.
