A fine engraved and repoussé silver on copper Oklad with gilt embellishments. Done in the western style, image depicts a monk before the Mother of God Hodigitria. Enameled halos with gilt. Over a 20th century print. Silver hallmarked in square stamp with Cyrillic letters "BC" for Viktor Savinkov (Postinikova-Loseva # 2112). Assayer hallmark with left profile of a woman wearing diadem, possible mark for Aleksandr Alekseevich Smirnov (Postinikova-Loseva # 2115). Backed with green velvet. Apprx 12-1/2" x 10-1/2". Purchased from the La Salle estate sale in Los Angeles, CA.
