Two American Sterling Silver items: a small plate and bowl. Plate features a raised scrolling pattern around edge. Hallmarked on bottom Gorham Sterling 1122. Measures apprx 8" in diameter. Weighs apprx 4.2 troy oz. Bowl has scalloped edges and also features raised scrolling patterns. Hallmarked Gorham Sterling 745 4 on bottom. Apprx 10-1/2" in diameter and 2" deep. Weighs apprx 14.8 troy oz.

Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. Sterling Silver Coffee Service set from the "Princess Patricia" Line. Set includes a tall coffee urn, sugar bowl and creamer. All feature round foot, square handles and Greek inspired design. Interiors are gold washed. Coffee pot measures apprx 7" x 10-1/2", sugar apprx 6" x 4", and creamer apprx 4" x 4-1/2". Hallmarked on bottom with company and line name as well as pattern numbers. Entire lot weighs apprx 29.5 troy oz.

Handle has bone or ivory insulators. Bottom hallmarked and reads Sterling A (indicating year) 2442 2 pint. Measures apprx 7-1/2" x 12". Weighs 20.0 troy oz.

Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. Set of traditional American flatware made by the Rhode Island Silver Company, Gorham. This style was first introduced in 1905. Each piece is Hallmarked with Gorham's typical lion passionate, anchor and G. Overall measurements are approximate. Set includes twelve 7" salad forks, twelve 7-1/2" dinner forks, eleven 5-3/4" butter spreaders, twelve 8-1/2" salad knives, twelve 10" dinner knives, twelve 6" tea spoons, twelve 7" consume spoons. Also included in the set are eight 7-1/2" iced-tea spoons, three small 8-1/2" serving spoons, one large 8-3/4" serving spoon, one small 6-1/2" ladle, one 9" casserole server, one 6-1/2" cheese spreader, one 8" fish knife, one 8-1/2" serving fork, one 9" carving fork and one 9-3/4" carving knife. All knives have stainless steel blades made by LaTema. Entire lot weighs apprx 136.5 (excluding dinner knives) troy oz. Comes with red felt storage bags.

Hallmarked, reads Gorham Sterling, Cement Filled, Reinforced with Rod 659 on bottom. Also included in lot is one short Whiting candlestick. Stands apprx 2" H and 3-1/3" D, at base. Hallmarked, reads Sterling by Frank M. Whiting, weighted and reinforced 2053 on bottom.

Proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Lyric Opera, Cleveland. Lot includes ten dainty butter spreaders and six tiny spoons of American Sterling Silver. Knives have simple scrolls on handles and are hallmarked and read PAO 1903. Each knife measures apprx 5-3/4". Spoons have twisted handles and are hallmarked on back. Each spoon measures apprx 4". Lot weighs apprx 8.7 troy oz. Knives come in original maroon bag from Gorham Co. Silversmiths.

During fox hunts, those in the party would carry this sort of cup. Also known as "Mint Julep" cups. Cups stand on fox heads, balancing on ears and snout. A horse head crest is engraved on cup. Although no hallmark is found, probably silver plate. Cups stand apprx 5-2/4"H x 3-3/4"D at lip and weigh apprx 8.6 troy oz.

Lot of four elegant dishes of varying sizes. All four have a scalloped pattern and are monogrammed at center with ornate "MBJ". The first is a oblong Windsor dish. Measures apprx 2"H x 8-3/4"W x 12-1/4"L . Bottom marked Sterling X958F Windsor. Weighs apprx 14.6 troy oz. The second is a square Gorham "Chippendale" dish. Measures apprx 2-1/2"H x 9"D. Bottom marked Gorham Sterling 576 4. Weighs apprx 16.3 troy oz. The fourth is a long dish, again Gorham "Chippendale" pattern. Apprx 1-1/4"H x 5"W x 9-3/4"L. Bottom marked Gorham Sterling 765 5. Lot includes a fancy tray and a tripod handled shell dish. The small tray is in a "Chippendale" pattern and measures apprx 6-1/4" W x 11-2/3"L. Bottom stamped with Windsor International Sterling WD 139-55. Weighs apprx 9.3 troy oz. Dish has rococco handle and is incised with names "Mary" and "Ned", flanking the handle. Bottom stamped with International Sterling D282A. Measures apprx 2"H x 8" D. Weighs apprx 13.3 troy oz.

Six delicate Sheffield Sterling Spoons. Hallmarked on back of each one with crown, a lion passant and X, as well as makers mark. Spoons have a tiny shell-like decoration on end of handle. Cased in fine brown leather box with velvet leather interior. Marked James Walker, Ltd. The London Jewellers. Each spoon is apprx 4-1/4" long. Total weight is apprx 2.6 troy oz.

233. American Enameled Souvenir Spoons


Impressive and unique collection of enameled souvenir spoons. Eighteen spoons documenting travel to states and monuments around the U.S. States include MD, PA, WV, CO, and RI. Four souvenirs for California attractions, and two for Oregon locations. Also included are a Princess Mary, a Lion Country Safari, a Wax Museum and a National Parents and Teachers Spoons. Some feature cloisonne enameling. Commemorative souvenir spoons were produced at least as early as 1881 and were very popular items in Victorian collections. Lengths range from apprx 3-1/4" to 4-3/4". Overall weight is apprx 5.7 troy oz.
