628. Lacquered Box, 20th Century
Stylish red, flower-shaped box in which to keep condiments. Box is made from papier mache. Lid is decorated with six peonies and a fancy, plumed rooster at center. Sides feature designs of flower and scrolls and along bottom is a stylized Greek Key, geometric pattern. Fitted inside are six, small petal shaped dishes and a round central dish. Measures apprx 2-2/3"H x 15-1/2"W.

629. Pair of Japanese Studio Vases, 20th Century
Pretty set of blue and white vases. Bulbous body has overall hand-painted, scrolling pattern with flower-like bursts. Neck has design of spear shaped leaves. Flares out at base and opening. Bottom has blue stamp of the artist. Vases stand apprx 14" H and 7" at widest point.

630. Japanese Ginger Jar
Very pretty piece of Japanese studio pottery. Jar is very round with bud shaped finial. Three bats or "awabi" hand painted on lid; scene on jar depicts a man, in a rock garden, offering a pot of flowers to two other men. The pot is glazed in a celedon green with design hand painted in blue, inside is cream glazing. Base is wax resist. Piece measures apprx 9-1/2"H and 9" at widest point.

631. Lot of Jade Chimes, Jade Spoons, and Eggshell Bowls
Jade chime display made from three carved pieces linked by jade chain and suspended from decorative mahogany stand. Stands apprx 13" H. Ten small jade spoons with dragon or horse heads on handles. Each measures apprx 4-1/2". A pair of hand painted porcelain eggshell bowls. Exterior of bowl features a scene of birds and flowers, rim has decorative, scrolling pattern in black and gilding to lip. Stamp of artist seen on bottom. Measure apprx 2-1/4"H x 5-1/2"D. All items in this lot come in blue fabric storage boxes lined with blue silk and with hinged bone closures.

633. Pair of Earthenware Ginger Jars, Chinese, circa Ming Dynasty
Both round jars in lot have abstract "swatlo" brushwork on gray ground, the large in slate color, the smaller, blue. The large jar is apprx 6"H, with base diameter of 4-1/4". The smaller jar is apprx 5"H, with base diameter of 3-1/2".

634. Chinese Watercolors, circa 20th Century
Set of botanical watercolors on paper, framed. The first depicts a flowering plant with pink blossoms and brown root. The second is of two branches with star shaped flowers. Both are executed with delicate brushwork, and the artist's signature can be seen on lower right corner. Each painting measures apprx 13-1/4" L x 9-1/2"W. Each painting is nicely framed in a mint green cloth matt and a forest green outer wood frame. Overall piece measures apprx 23-1/2"L x 19-3/4"W.

635. Pair of Metal Items, Chinese
Lot includes a small bronze lidded pot and a handled brass vessel. Small insence pot sits on three feet, has a biomorphic handles, and a small beast finial. Designs are geometric scrolling lines, and lid has holes roughly punched in. Second vessel is irregularly shaped, lip is slightly wavy. Exterior is densely patterned with scrolling cartouches and handle has a ball with red carved floral designs. Pot measures apprx 5-1/2"H x 5-1/2"W, and vessel measures apprx 3"H x 8"L x 4-1/2"W.

Set of identical lidded jar with carved bases. Heavy jars are a soft pewter color with applied brass detailing of a band around the lid and base and applied decoration of a blooming branch. Base is carved dark wood. Bottom of jar has a NHS pewter sticker. Each measures apprx 9-1/2"L x 7"D.
