11. Oil Lamp, Middle Eastern, circa 3rd Century A.D.


Buff clay. Large almond shaped lamp with almond shaped base with cross relief pattern creating a cross on the bottom. Nominal stub handle with three lines. Small recessed filler hold surrounded by rings. Groove leads to wick hole at front. Cross relief and star patterns on shoulders. Measures apprx 4" x 3-1/4".

12. Two Pre-Columbian Bowls


The first is shallow and wide measuring apprx 1-1/4"T x 5-3/4"D. The second, with a slight tripod base, measures apprx 1-1/2"T x 4-3/4"D. Both are of a dark brown color that varies subtly in overall shade. Numbers on bottom indicate that have been deaccessioned from a museum collection.

From the Buddhist Ghandara civilization, Ghandara is the name of an area located in India north-Westerner on current Pakistan and Afghanistan. A carved section of a wall frieze of gray stone with white patina. Apprx 26-3/4"H x 11-1/2"W x 4"D. Provenance: Ian Roper, c.1996.

Hand painted terra cotta figurine. Hollow female figure wears a traditional costume with a large necklace, cape and elaborate head piece or hair style. Applied pigments are faded. Details such as hair, eyes and toes are incised. Statue stands apprx 9-3/4"H.
