Five boxed cloth portfolios of loose fine color plates on heavy paper. "North American Wildflowers" beautifuly illustrated by Mary Vaux and published by the Smithsonian Institute. Each volume is bound with green, tied with a ribbon and stamped with Smithsonian "For the Increase and diffusion of knowledge among men." Contents include a table of contents written descriptions of the flowers and then the full page illustrations. Each folio measures apprx 1-1/2" X 13-1/2" X 10-1/2".

They are designed to help children with language and identification. First book contains thirty images of animals and plants. Second book depicts thirty scenes and objects from every day life. Original owners name, Tillie Weinhardt, written in each volume.
