Pair of Tibetan prayer wheels. In Buddhist practice, wheels are instruments of prayer helping to achieve spiritual purification. The wheel is made of repousee metal and are penetrated along its axis by a wooden or metal handle. A ballastered chain helps it to spin. Inside cylinder, written on paper or skin, are esoteric texts. Each turn of the cylinder generates merit. One wheel has blue enamel detailing on top, the other has red. Each prayer wheel measures apprx 11-1/2" long. 100/200 Sold $253.00 back to catalog |
