534. Regency Inlaid Tea Caddy, circa Early 19th Century

Very pretty coffer-shaped mahogany box with inlaid patterns of interlocking diamonds and Fluer-de-Lis shapes in blonde wood. Also with blonde banding. Key hole surrounded by ivory ellipse. On sides, lion's head handles in brass. Interior lined with mottled peach and pearl painted leather. Interior comprised of three compartments; two of which are lidded. The central well contains a large crystal cup engraved with alternating oval and spear shapes. Measures apprx. 7"H x 6"W x 9"L.
