133. Collection of Shakspeare Prints by J.& J. Boydell, Sept. 29, 1799

Lot includes two unframed engravings on heavy paper from the Shakspeare collection by J. & J. Boydell, "Othello" and "King Henry the Fourth". The "Othello" image is taken from Act V. Scene II. The depiction is from the original painting by J. Graham. Engraved by W. Leney as seen on lower right. Measures apprx 26" x 20". The "Henry" image is taken from Act II. Scene II and from the original painting by R. Smirke, R.A. and Jospeh Farington, R.A. Engraving done by Sam Middiman. Measures apprx 20" x 26". Both prints also have the Shakspeare text that inspired the images as well as information about the publisher on the bottom and gold leaf applied to edges of the paper.
