| 111. Johann Wilhelm Baur (German, 1607-1641)
Copperplate engraving on paper. Scene depicts the apparel of two soldier groupings: those from Italy (Italliani) and those from Moscow (Moscouiri). The Moscow soldiers wear fur coats and caps. The Italians are shown with mustaches and wide brimmed hats. "Willaem Baur inuent" on lower left and "F.L.D. Ciartres excud", on lower right, the number 12 is seen on the corner. Original print backed by laid paper and archivally tipped into off-white mat. Image trimmed. Print measures apprx 4" x 8". With mat, entire item measure apprx 14" x 18".
