| 176. Rufino Tamayo (Mexican, 1899-1991)
Profile of a Woman. Limited edition lithograph on paper, framed. Tamayo was a contemporary of Diego Rivera, was one of the most well know Mexican artist of the 20th century. As well as a painter, he was a prolific print maker interested in creating prints that possessed the same kinds of volume, textures and depth as his paintings. This a wonderful lithograph of an expressionist woman's profile and torso. She and the stylized line to the left side are in medium oranges while the tangled background is forest green. Print is signed in pencil on lower right side and the edition number, 120/150, appears on the lower left. Framed with plain metal frame. Measures apprx 31" x 23-1/2". 600/800 Sold $891.25 back to catalog |
