"St. George". Oil on board icon with Old Russian text in upper margin. Upper right has a view of the annunciation and upper left shows Christ giving blessing. St. George is driving out a king in lower portion. This style of icon was made for the general public by a trained icon painter. Beneath the pigment are incised lines for the layout of the painting. Apprx 15-1/4" x 12-1/2". Verso has wax blessing.
