Proceeds from this painting will go to support the Akron Symphony. "Woodland Clearing". Impressionist-style oil on canvas, signed lower right. Canvas apprx 24" x 36", overall in frame apprx 33" x 45". The artist studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and Rome. The Makk family's artwork, including three generations of artists, may be found in many collections, most notably the White House.

Small circular "WD" cartouche in lower right corner of background. Courvoisier label on the verso with inscription regarding the item given as a prize in 1941. From "Arriving in the Countryside of Elysian Fields at Mount Olympus"; "Pegasus, flies with its family of four colorful baby horses". "Aspect of Life". Oil on panel, framed. Image shows an old door set into a brick wall. Image is dark and evokes a sense of ruin through details like a missing door knob and crumbling cement near bottom. Vaiksnoras was a Cleveland School Artist most famous for his edgy images of nighttime and war. Verso bears artist's name and date, '66, as well as title and the number 67.
