420. A Fine KPM Porcelain Plaque by Wagner (German, circa late 19th Century)
Hand-painted porcelain wall plaque by one of the finest KPM artists. Plaque depicts an old German woman wearing a bonnet and fur collar; after a portrait by Balthasar Denner (1685–1749). Painting is very fine and depiction is executed in near photorealistic details; for example, the wrinkles around the sitters mouth. Signed by Wagner on lower right. Verso has KPM mark with scepter, incised 15 B and has illegible script in graphite. Measures apprx 15-1/2"H x 13-1/4"W. Plaque is set into ornate hand-carved wood, composite and gilt frame. With frame, entire item measures apprx 22-1/2"H x 20-1/2"W.

421. An Art Nouveau Ceramic Vase, circa 1900
Glazed earthenware, circa early 20th century, in slate blue with terracotta and ivory crystalline matte glaze on a shouldered tapering form. Apprx 9-1/2"W at shoulders with an apprx 4-1/4" opening at rim. Apprx 4"W base, terminating to an apprx 6" flared base, not including metal work. Brass Art Nouveau carriage with base, arms and rim. Bronze surrounds the body with attached oval medallions and swags. Apprx 30"T from base to top of bronze arm.

423. Porcelain Birdcage, Italian, early-mid 20th Century
Round, hand-built birdcage features gridded walls with a flared base and a copula top. Finial has two knops and a brass screw with a hanging device. Cage has a small side door and two round wells on interior. Glazed an overall white with hand painted bands of dark rose and decorations of pink and green flowers. Bottom marked in black Meiselman Imports Made Italy with decorators number K.24. Measures apprx 19"H x 12-1/2"D.

A beautiful hand painted set comprising a coffee pot (9"T), creamer (3-1/4"T) & sugar (4-1/2"T), and cups (2"T)and saucers 4-3/4"D) for six guests. Each item is decorated with flowing flowers against a muted yellow/mustard background. Handles and rims are decorated with gilt. Green mark on bottoms, few without and most worn except coffee pot. 425. In The Manner of Sevres; Ormolu Bowl
Hand painted and decorated monumental bowl. The porcelain bowl features a sweet pastorial scene of lovers singned A. Marin and on reverse, a calm landscape. Painted scenes are surrounded by raised scrolling and floral gilt work. White interior holds faint reminants of painted roses. Brass frame work has beaded top, split handles, and a bottom band with four small feet. Bottom has threaded round knob in center perhaps indicating an original attachment to another piece. Bottom is hand labeled with an X symbol and Paris. Measures apprx 5"H x 9"W x 13-1/2"L.

Artist signed on bottom by "Lucia" and location in France of "Blancheville 1877", along with date. Scalloped edge and deep well, painting of two fairies capping the flowers for nightfall. One is adult with wings on forehaed and star over-head, the other is cherubic with wings; beautiful detail of foreground tree. Apprx 9"D.

Lilies of the Valley Plate. Victorian majolica is known for its designs featuring natural forms and its jewel tone glazes. Raised design features green glazed leaves and soft blue flowers against a lavender background. Bottom of pear-shaped plate is glazed a light mustard with brown flecks. Bottom bears a possible "F" mark in glaze. Purchased at Ellen Strin Galleries, Cleveland, Ohio. Measures apprx 8"W x 10-1/4" L.
