First item of lot is "Costume Baitain(?)" "Lord Mayor" hand-colored print on watermarked paper depicts a regal man in an elaborate costume. In the background are a group of men on horseback. Information in graphite on verso dates the print to 1855 and attributes it to Pyne. Paper measures apprx 13-1/2"H x 10"W. Second item in lot is a simple, unsigned watercolor on paper. Depicts a seated man with a beard wearing a cloak and hat. Mounted into a pewter blue mat. Entire piece measures apprx 12-1/4"H x 10"W.

"Mother" (6/90) and "An Angle was Tired" (8/60). Woodblock prints on laid paper, matted. "Mother" depicts an older woman in profile and "Angle" shows a sleeping figure slumped against the base of a street lamp. Both executed in simple, black lines. Titled, numbered and signed on bottom. Under top mat are hand written notes about the history of the print: both were shown at a 1931 exhibit of the Cleveland Print Marker's Society and "Mother" was additionally shown at a 1932, Int'l exhibition in Los Angeles. "Mother" measures apprx 10-1/2"H x 8-1/4"W. "Angle" apprx 8-1/4"H x 7"W.

"Speech", titled in graphite on verso. Limited edition screen print. Steinberg was renowned for his playful covers and drawings that appeared in The New Yorker for nearly six decades. His modernist illustrations were executed in a variety of media often depicting architectural cityscapes. He once said that “doodling is the brooding of the hand.” Signed in graphite on lower right hand and numbered 56 out of an edition of 75. Measures apprx 21-1/2"H x 29-1/2"W.

Signed lithograph paper, framed under glass. Levine is a renowned Boston-area artist most famous for his gritty depictions of corrupt underworld characters.
