612. Lot of Seventeen Small Valentines 1) Valentine by Windsor features embossed lace paper. Pink paper mesh in aperture with small gilt angel and other scrapes applied. Interior has poem entitled "Think of Me". Measures apprx 3-1/4" x 5"W. 2) Printed card with chromolithograph scene of two small figures in a landscape. Poem entitled "Accepted Love". Border of lace cut paper embellished with gilt. Measures apprx 4"H x 2"W. 3) Small Valentine made by Meek and sold by Taft has lace paper boarder decorated with paper disks and flora scraps. 613. Fourteen Small Valentines 1) "Pop-up" card features lace cut paper decorated with a scrap of a cross reading "In Partnership for Life". Underneath can ben seen a chromolithograph of a young boy holding a dog. Grey card is embossed with white designs and opens to reveal a poem called "Only Thee". Measures apprx 3-3/4"H x 2-1/2"W. 2) Fancy gilt and white cut paper has the design of a ship. Interior bears " Affection" poem. Made by Wood. 614. Lot of Four Fold Out Valentines, circa Early 20th Century 1) Valentine shows two Cupid figures reaching to light a candle as they stand on the drip well. Candle base folds out into a round shape made from pink tissue paper. Verso has inscription "To__ From Josephine". Measures apprx 7-3/4"H x 7-1/2"D 2) Easel stand Valentine is in the shape of a harp and is decorated with roses. bands of floral paper extend downward and are attached to little screws as if item once moved. A little girl holding flowers stands at front of the card. Card reads on front "My Hearts Gift" and on verso inscribed in graphite "From Grandma Graves, 1907". Measures apprx 7-1/4"H x 5-1/2"W. 3) Valentine in candle holder form shows a little girl holding a heart reading "To one I Love" and on the other side a small poem entitled "To my Valentine". Base folds our and is made of pink tissue paper. Verso reads "To Miss Willard from Eleanor". Measures apprx 5"H x 4-1/4"D. 4) Valentine Features a sweet scene of a young boy and girl under an umbrella holding a basket with a heart shaped note reading "To My Valentine". 615. 16 Valentine Post-Cards, early 20th Century Collection of 16 Valentine Post-Cards. Front images include Cupids, doves, children, and violets. Cards were printed in either Germany, England, or New York. Four cards are post marked from locations such as Portland, OR; Cleveland, OH; and Titusville, PA with dates ranging from 1904-1911. Most dates are indicated. Many cards are made out to a Robert Dixen, and few of them have actual messages. Included in lot are two "Letter card" post cards which display a 3-D scene when opened. Fist shows a couple surrounded by flowers holding a sash of tissue paper hearts. Second shows a bouquet of "pop-up" flowers with a printed message of "Best Wishes" and a hand written "and Loving Greeting". Cards measure apprx 5-1/2"H x 3-1/2"W. 50/100 Sold: $28.75 |

616. Lot of Eleven Envelopes and Valentines 1) Tiny Valentine features embossed paper cover reading "Dearest name the happy day". Envelope is not postmarked but rather reads "Presente". 2) Printed valentine card with pierce work reads: "To my true Valentine!" and depicts a dove. Envelope post marked from Washington, D.C. in 1908. 3) Valentine stationary features a embossed lace pattern border with a printed bouquet of flowers including a lilly and a rose with a hand written poem. Cut lace paper envelope features a post mark from V.T. and a broken wax seal. Card features a collectors stamp. 2) Lace cut paper card has a pretty cover hand-colored scrap of a flower basket and a handwritten poem on interior. Lace paper envelope is stamped and post marked Mass.. 3) Valentine features a cover image of a young man reading a letter; interior bears a poem in careful blue script and on the back a foil crest reading "Mull a la Suisse". 618. Lot of Six Fancy Valentines 1) Valentine features a paper doily set over a blue and white embossed card. Through an oval aperture one can see a chromolithograph portrait of a young girl. Front is embellished with scraps of geranium leaves, "Truth" and small segments of blue velvet ribbon. Interior has printed poem entitled "My Destiny". Measures apprx 7"H x 4-1/2"W. 2) Small card is made from shiny blue paper with a doily backed with red and orange framing an image of a little girl. Interior has a poem called "Pets" Measures apprx 4-1/2"H x 3"W. 3) Lace cut paper has a middle aperture covered with yellow gauze and framed by a painted foil scrap. Interior shows a small framed butterfly with a tiny printed poem. Verso bears a hand written greeting. Measures apprx 7"H x 4-3/4"W. 4) Ornate cover has double lace cut paper layers, one with gilt, and Rococo details like a cherub and shell. Interior is blank. Measures apprx 7"H x 4-3/4"W. 5) Fold-out Valentine features a design of shaking hands, pair of Cupids, a basket of flowers, and a chain of tissue paper hearts. Verso has a "Printed in Germany" Stamp. Measures apprx 6-3/4"H x 3-3/4"W. 6) A second fold-out Valentine displays three printed layers of images including a little gilt in a heart with the words "A Token of Affection" and a little boy playing a horn.
