228. Faberge stamped Sterling Silver Tea Service attributed to Workmaster Julius Rappoport (1851-1917)
Rappoport was one of Faberge’s rare craftsmen of Jewish origin, was apprenticed in Berlin, opened a workshop in St. Petersburg from 1883-84 and was under exclusive contract. He is best known for his naturalistic animal figures but also executed special commissions for the Imperial Family and the Imperial Cabinet. His workshop was taken over by the First Silver Artel around 1909. This four piece service has an overall bright cut design of scrolling flowers and leaves, intricate lower borders with bead detail and simple elegant lower sections of smooth surface and foot. The handles are organic with a Nouveau flair, the tea pot has bone insulators and a hinged lid, the sugar has a lid however not hinged. Each is monogrammed "H.S.R." and dated "1873" in oval medallions. Each item is stamped with the silver smiths mark in Cyrillic letters, the Faberge hallmark ((Postnikova-Loseva #1421) and an unknown assayer's hallmark. Measurements apprx; tea pot 6-1/2"T, sugar with lid 5-1/4"T, creamer 5" to top of handle and waste bowl 4-1/8"T. Apprx 57.4 troy oz.

229. Faberge Marked Letter Opener
Gorgeous letter opener features a patinaed silver (or pewter) horse head with ruby eyes. Guilloche enamel is over-set with gold swags punctuated with small diamonds. Curved blade is made from Nephrite Jade. All materials are properly hallmarked. Measures apprx 10-3/4" L.

230. A Faberge Moss Agate Box, Moskow, circa 1908
Moss agate carved into rounded container with removable lid. Sterling silver frame and sculpted elephant on lid. Town mark of Moskow (Postnikova-Loseva # 3887, 1908-1926) and Faberge stamp (Postnikova-Loseva #1421, 1896-1908) along with Cyrillic initials "F.A." found on lid edge. Sterling has gold wash and the green changes from deep green to dark blue depending on light source. Apprx 2-1/2"T x 3-1/4"W.

231. A Russian Enameled Egg by Dimitrie-Aleksandrov Pastukhov (St. Petersburg, late 19th Century)
Hallmarked with Cyrillic letters for M.P., Pastukhov (Postnikova-Loseva # 997) and with the town mark of St. Petersburg on the interior of each half. The exterior with a stippled gold washed background and four blue enameled beaded borders, with sections of pastel enameled flowers in between. The enamel work is very fine. The interior has a gold wash. The egg measures approx. 2-3/4"L.

232. A Second Russian Enameled Egg by Dmitriì Aleksandrov Pastukhov, St. Petersburg, late 19th Century
Stamped with the makers Cyrillic letters for M.P., Pastukhov (Postnikova-Loseva # 997) and town mark for St. Petersburg. Colorful enamel completely covers this egg in a Pan-Slavic style. Interior is gold washed. Solid color enamel work is very well done. Egg measures apprx 2-3/4"+L.

233. A Pair of Russian Guilloche Enamel Perfumers, late 19th Century
Clear cut crystal containers with sterling silver necks and lids with evidence of a gold wash. Tops have clear blue enamel over a guilloche ground with delicate gold foil laurels and swags in the enamel. Necks have two thin band of same enamel, sans foil. Both jars have tiny stoppers and silver is hallmarked with an "S" in an oval cartouche, Russian assayer's mark (unknown), and unknown town hallmark and "925" in an oval cartouche. This most likely was produced for export. Each apprx 4-1/2"T x 3" at girth.

234. Siberian Fossil Marble Box, Russian, circa early 20th Century
Beautiful, tiny, oblong, covered box bearing the Imperial Emblem of Nicholas II (the eagle) on the lid in metal. Box is finely carved from a swirling olive green marble. Sits on four black dish feet. Measures apprx 1-1/4"H x 1-3/4"W x 2-3/4"L. Also Included in lot is an original Faberge wood box. Box is made from light Birch wood and lined with cream colored satin. Lid bears company name and logo in gilt. Measures apprx 3-1/4" L.

235. A Russian Silver Icon, circa late 19th Century
Assayer hallmark of Andreì Antonovich Kovalbskiì (Postinikova-Loseva # 2109) and dated 1880. Unidentified maker or town mark. Repousse worked silver over wood panel with scenes of the Saints in the presence of the Holy Mother and the Baby Jesus. Cyrillic writing in borders show names of saints. Apprx 6-1/4" x 3-3/4".
