196. Fred Claude Rodewald (American b. 1923)
"Parisian Street Scene". Silkscreen on paper, framed under glass. Cartoonish view depicts daily French life in late 1950's. Among the characters, one can spot a drunk sailor, a woman carrying flowers and a man riding his bicycle on the cobblestone street. Rodewald is best know for his illustrations of "pin-up" beauties. The painting is signed and titled (illegibly) on the bottom. Measures apprx 19"H x 24"W. With mat and black frame, overall measurement is 24-1/2"H x 29-1/2"H.

"Nu De Dos". Reverse etching on paper, framed under glass. Line drawing of a nude woman's back. Black lines are simple but expressive. Name, date, '56, and location, Cannes, can be seen (backwards) on right side. Verso bears a Certificate of Authentication from the Société de Vérification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris, The Collector's Guild Ltd., New York. Paper measures apprx 15-1/4"H x 11-1/2"W. With double mat and frame entire item measures apprx 22-3/4"H x 18-3/4"W.

198. Prints of images by Picasso and Braque
Pair of offset images in colors, printed on Arches paper. 1st plate is Pablo Picasso's "Nature Morte" on tan colored paper, a Cubist still life involving a piece of newspaper. Appears as if drawn in pastels and white and blue paints and signed on lower right corner. 2nd folio is Georges Braque's "À Varengeville" on cream colored paper and depicts a somber landscape featuring a boat, huts and a green sea; signed lower left. Both measure apprx 18" x 13", and come from folios that reproduced great masters of the 20th Century.

213. Sunol Alvar (Spanish, b. 1935)
Two figures with doves, color lithograph on paper, signed lower right and numbered lower left 184/200. Image apprx 20-1/2"H x 26-1/2"W, overal in mat and frame apprx 28-1/4"H x 34-1/4"W. Since a one-man show in Paris, in 1963, Alvar has exhibited regularly throughout Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan. In 1993, an important book devoted to the artist's paintings was published in Spain and the United States. Within the same year, ten one-man shows exhibiting his works in all media (paintings, graphic works, sculpture, and drawings) were held throughout the United States.
