A 19th century copy bound in a contemporary red leather case. One colum text with minimal decoration in gold, apprx 161 pages. Text notes writen in margins, worm holes are heavy and throughoout. binding is detatched from case. Several pages have vintage, home made paper repairs at upper right corners. Overall apprx 7-1/2" x 5".

These are from Bighams personal collection with abriviations and hand writen notes in margin. Thin paper with two lines of text. Six speeches dating from 1858 to 1863 (two from 1858, missing 1860), including the State of The Union Address, the LeCompton Conspirecy and The Conference Bill For The Admission of Kansas. Each apprx 9-3/4" x 6-1/4".

A typed letter by American essayist, bibliophile, and author Alfred Edward Newton (1863-1940) to Boies Penrose , dated June 30th, 1928. The letter descusses the contribution of a Caxton to a library, the finished of a print room and book donation, followed by a campy closing, stating "I cannot close this letter without suggesting that it was rather mean of you to go abroad just as we were begining to get aquinted with each other." Typed on Old Hamshire water marked paper, signature is correct and in black ink, paper apprx 10-5/8" x 8-1/8". This would be a neat addition to and bibliophiles collection.
