582. A Lot of Early 19th Century Vellum Documents


Two copies of the personal will Capt. George Cornish Gambier. Gambier was captain for the Royal Navy of the ship, Dauntless, during the years 1821-1823. Documents include "The Principal Registry" from "Her Majesty's High Court of Justice" dated June 28, 1879 and fixed with two royal stamps. The "Last Will and Testament" written in calligraphy bequeathing his estate to his nephew. Double sided document would have been folded to display "Probate of the Will of Capt. George Cornish Gambier deceased". Final document is an octagonal "Seal of Her majesty's High Court of Justice" which would have been used to seal the will.

Le Vie Parisienne was a fun, slightly risque weekly magazine published in Paris at the turn of the last century. First page is from 1922 and the illustration is titled "Reve de Printemps", created by Herouard. The second is dated 1924 and is titled "Le Tambour du Roi", also illustrated by Herouard. Both loose pages apprx 13-1/2" x 10-1/2".

Two illustrations depicting ladies smoking. Lot includes an illustration by G. Pavis, dated 1922 and titled "A Cannes". The second is illustrated by Jaques and is titled "Dernier Cri: La Bouee Radiotelephonique". Both measure apprx 13-1/2" x 10-1/2".
