| 428. Victorian Majolica Plate, English, late 19th Century
Lilies of the Valley Plate. Victorian majolica is known for its designs featuring natural forms and its jewel tone glazes. Raised design features green glazed leaves and soft blue flowers against a lavender background. Bottom of pear-shaped plate is glazed a light mustard with brown flecks. Bottom bears a possible "F" mark in glaze. Purchased at Ellen Strin Galleries, Cleveland, Ohio. Measures apprx 8"W x 10-1/4" L. 200/350 Sold $448.50 back to catalog |
