| 485. Ceramic Bowl, Chinese, late 19th/early 20th Century
Large porcelain bowl with over glaze enamels in the Famille verte palette. Interior has glazed decorations of fruit, peaches (symbolizing marriage and longevity) and pomegranates (a symbol of fertility). Bottom shows an old man riding a crane (also a longevity symbol) while precious objects and lotus blossoms are painted around the rim. Exterior depicts an energetic battle scene in greens and oranges. Bottom bears 6 character over glaze red stamp of Kang Hsi. Measures apprx 5-1/4"H x 13"D. 225/300 Sold $264.50 back to catalog |
