Small handled, ivory purse has a gold damask lined interior with leather banding on edges. Interior has four compartments, one with latch. Hinge is silver on brass; mark not found. Sides feature accordion expansions. Front of purse has an applied carved relief of bay laurels, five stars and shield with initials and date, Dec. 19th 1883 in ink wash as a commemoration of an event. Measures apprx 2-1/2"H x 3-3/4"L.
