"The Thames at Richmond". Watercolor on watercolor paper. Quick study depicts five figures situated in a river landscape. Probably from a sketch book, this is a quick study done at the site. Verso dates this piece to May 15, 1920. Verso also gives location written in two different hands in graphite and in ink. Image measures apprx 7-3/4"H x 10"W. The artist's real name is Matsujirou and he was born in Meiji. He was mentor to Tousu Kubota, a Shijyou sect artist. 50/75 Sold $270.25 back to catalog |
