610. Lot of Two G. Kershaw Valentines, circa 1850's

Lot includes a hand painted Valentine decorated with a scene of tiny cupids and scrolling patterns reminiscent of the illuminate manuscripts of the Middle Ages, and a finely printed poem. Embossed border has a motif of garlands and music. The makers name and London are embossed on bottom. Measures apprx 9"H x 7-1/4"W. Second item features a lace paper cover with a pasted image of a general and a hand written verse in blue ink surrounding the central picture. Bottom center has makers name and interior has stamp of collector Lillian Newton Stone. Measures apprx 9"H x 7-1/4"W.
