| 184. Two Prints by Charles Carey (American, early 20th Century)
"Mother" (6/90) and "An Angle was Tired" (8/60). Woodblock prints on laid paper, matted. "Mother" depicts an older woman in profile and "Angle" shows a sleeping figure slumped against the base of a street lamp. Both executed in simple, black lines. Titled, numbered and signed on bottom. Under top mat are hand written notes about the history of the print: both were shown at a 1931 exhibit of the Cleveland Print Marker's Society and "Mother" was additionally shown at a 1932, Int'l exhibition in Los Angeles. "Mother" measures apprx 10-1/2"H x 8-1/4"W. "Angle" apprx 8-1/4"H x 7"W. 40/60 Sold $63.25 back to catalog |
