Paris, circa 1510-19, Iehan Granion device in ornate woodblock on title page. Titled page has Lisbon double stamp in black ink, upper right corner. Apprx 102 mis-numbered (101) pages in double columns in 69 lines. Inscribed on fly page in blue ink to "Jamie Bonbright", James C.H. Bonbright, the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal 1955-58, penned by unknown collegue. End paper bear exlibris tag "From the Library of George Dunn of Woolley Hall Near Maidenhead", along with previous scholars' graphite notes. Contemporary ornately blindstamped calf leather. Four raised bands on spine most of leather there missing. Boards are starting to detatch. Edge of paper marked in brown ink with short Latin title. Interior clean with mild toning, title page soiled from handeling. Light yellow stain at lower portion of parper edge. Apprx 10-3/4" x 8". 600/800 back to catalog |
