573. Oriental Collector's Cabinet, early 20th Century
Stacking wooden cabinet in two sections. Top of cabinet features two lattice doors through which can be seen 18 drawers marked with Chinese characters and ring pulls. Bottom part has two hinged doors which can be opened to reveal a storage space. Fixtures and fish-pin-locks are brass. Measures apprx 34"H x 28"L x 11-1/2"W.

574. Pair of Vases, Chinese, circa 19th Century
Pretty pair of identical vases featuring a tapering bulbous body and flared rim. Both are control glazed a vivid apple green with a white interior. The "apple green" color is derived from copper. It is a transparent glaze applied over a ge-type crackled base. Round bottoms are unmarked. Each measures apprx 8-1/4"H x 4" at widest point.

575. Chinese Oil Lamps, circa 1920's
Lot of thee complementary, hollow earthenware oil lamps. Tall lamps feature round wells and joints on shafts, like a bamboo stalk. Glazed a dark green. Measure apprx 4-3/4"H, 7-1/2"H, and 10-1/2"H. Lot also includes a simpler model glazed in a light celedon color (measures apprx 7-3/4"). All could be easily used as candle holders.

576. Pair of Ming Roof Tiles
Beautiful pair of ceramic architectural figures used on roofs to ward evil sprits off the houses. Sancai like glaze creates the green and yellow colors seen. The fish-dragon figure was believed to protect against lightening and fire since it was a creature of the water. Measure apprx 12"H x 4-1/4"W.

Four sided porcelain vase hand painted with nature vignettes of birds, flowers and landscapes. Boarders are wonderfully detailed mosaic-like patterns outlined in orange and gilt. Interior is turquoise blue. Bottom marked China. Would make a great table lamp. Measures apprx 10-3/4"H x 4-1/4"W.

Pair of porcelain plates decorated in Eiraku kiln style, which uses a basic red coating and a decorative gold pattern. Matching plates feature a central dragon surrounded by intricate grid patterns. Bottom of plate glazed white with six round red spots and artist's signature. Measure apprx 9-1/2"D.

Small, double handled pot with lid. Round pot is made from purple, unglazed clay called Zisha. A decoration of stamped pewter metal is applied over the top. Metal features organic designs of dragons and awabi. Bottom reads "Yee Dzu Ching, Chefoo, N. China". Measures apprx 4"H x 5-1/4"W. YiXing ware is most famous for its teapots.
