336. Advertising Mermaid, circa 1877
Beautiful carved wood mermaid. She has a spiraling tail and holds a bundle of arrows ready to be cast down to the passer-by. Her other hand remains empty although once may have held a spear. Intended to be hung out side of a shop thus viewed from below. A crest and the year 1877 carved on her under side. Includes hanging chain. Measures apprx 14-1/2"H x 27"L.

337. South American Santos Figure, circa 17th Century
Wooden bulto sculpture of a monk, most likely Saint Francis, due to hairstyle and simple robes. However any more identifiable symbols such as a bird or stigmata have cracked off. Weathered exterior shows remains of gesso and gilt, apprx 32H. Provenance: From a prominent Cleveland Estate.

338. Tiffany Studios Bronze Candlestick for The Rowfant Club
After a model by James Lippitt Clark in the form of a standing Groundhog supporting a candle holder while sitting on an open book.
The top of the base is inscribed "J.L. CLARK MODELLER ROWFANT CLUB CLEVELAND 1903". The base is stamped "TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK", and "OF/ONE HUNDRED/COPIES MADE THIS IS/ NO-31". Apprx 8-1/4"T.
The making of candlesticks began in early 1894 when each member was charged to "appear at the annual convocation bearing a candlestick with his name attached thereto in autograph". The Rowfant Club is an exclusive Cleveland, Ohio, mens bibliophilic organization started in 1892.

Sculpted by Sandro Bonaiuto for the Rowfant Club of Cleveland Ohio, this is numbered 89/125 and marks the centenial date of the founding of the men's bibliophilic organization. The abstracted form, when holding a candle in flame forms the shadow of the club's mascot, a groundhog, on the open page below. Apprx 5-1/2"T.

"Atalanta, Fastening Her Sandal". Bronze figure of a nude woman. Lovely statue depicts a classical woman kneeling. Various objects of her toilette are scattered on the ground. Signed on oval base and stamped Susse F.G. Sculpture has golden reddish brown patination. This work was first exhibited at the Salon of 1850. Measures apprx 9"H x 7-3/4"L x 5-1/2"W.
