Her face and collar have initial paint washes while the rest remains in loose outlines. "Dutch River Barge". Oil on canvas, signed lower left apprx 23" x 29", framed in a faux Coromandel ebony wood frame, apprx 4"W. Overall apprx 31" x 36". Gilt thin liner/separator. The artist painted coastal and river scenes along the Clyde and later visited Holland. Later he returned to Scotland and painted the canals and estuaries of Holland. Noble had a studio at Coldingham.
