Biedermier Mahogany Secretaire a Abbatant (French or Dutch, circa 1785) Continental Louis XVI Secretaire a Abbatant of mahogany, with crotch mahogany veneers and lighter wood (oak or ash) interior shelving. Drop front with iron brackets is paneled, above two paneled doors with long drawer in top. Interior fitted with central door, two banks of small drawers, open shelves above. Exterior has cantered corner "pilasters" which are fluted, a subtle molied overhand at the top, and square dramatically tapered feet. Brass hardware may be original.
