Continental Louis XVI Secretaire a Abbatant of mahogany, with crotch mahogany veneers and lighter wood (oak or ash) interior shelving. Drop front with iron brackets is paneled, above two paneled doors with long drawer in top. Interior fitted with central door, two banks of small drawers, open shelves above. Exterior has cantered corner "pilasters" which are fluted, a subtle molied overhand at the top, and square dramatically tapered feet. Brass hardware may be original. Measures apprx 4'8"H x 3'2"L x 1'8"W.

This piece sits on four lifted bun feet and features a substantial, architectural cornice. Design is simple. Fixtures, drawer pulls and key holes are brass. Measures apprx 7'3"H x 2'L x 4'7"W.

French, settee with two matching arms chairs and matching side chair. All have fine petite point tapestry work of idles and work of French country life. Carved wood with applied gilt in high relief areas. Set was originally purchased for a great estate located in Washington, D.C. The last three images in the details pictures show the elaborate room where this set resided for many years. Sofa apprx 41"T x 61"W x 28"D, arm chairs apprx 39"T x 24"W x 24"D. Small side chair apprx 37"T x 15"W x 20"D.

Chest is raised on legs with scalloped bracket aprons on front and brass castors on all feet. Oval shaped brass handles on lower section, different shaped knobs above. Apprx 45" x 42" x 23".
