351. Large Round Icon (Russian, circa 19th Century)
Christ Entering Jerusalem. Oil and gilt tondo on gessoed wood. Jesus rides his donkey and is followed by a group of people carrying palm leaves. The architecture is symbolic with a tower marking the entry to the city. Behind the figures the background has a fine pattern incised in the gilding and the haloes stand out with a brighter gilding. A mother and child stand to the right, to remind the viewer of Christ's humanity and innocence as he embarks on events which ultimately lead to his crucifixion. A banner of Cyrillic writing is above Jesus' head. Measures apprx 21"Dia.

352. A Russian Triptych Icon, Kiev circa Early 19th Century
Holy Mary, regal empress, holding baby Jesus. Oil on three wood panels. Beautiful personal devotional object painted in a flat, folk style. Four saints, Nicoli, Demetri, Vasseli and Georgi, flank the holy pair. Cover reads IC XC (Jesus Christ) and HI K*. All writing in old Ukraine. Measures apprx 12"H x 15-1/2" W when open.

353. A Fine Guilloche Enamel & Nephrite Letter Opener, Russian, St.Petersburg, circa 1899-1908
A fine nephrite blade with a lavender Guilloche enameled handle in sterling with gold wash. Swan accent in sterling with accent rubies for eyes and on gilt fern scrolls. Unknown silversmith initials in Cyrillic "YaA", with Faberge hallmark (Postnikova-Loseva #1421) and sterling marked with diadem head facing left and assayer's initials in Cyrillic "E L". Faberge employed many fine artisans, creating one of a kind works of art. This item was not done by the hand of Karl Faberge, however by an artist of the period. Apprx 10-1/8"L.

354. A Russian Sterling & Enameled Egg, circa 1879
Hand chased sterling egg with applied double headed, crowned eagles with enamel work. Interior revealed shows the church in a squared plinth with the four corners decorated with oval precious stones. Hallmarked, possibly assayer Andreì Antonovich Kovalskiì (Postnikova-Loseva # 2109) and dated 1879 along with sterling mark and unknown city mark. With stand, egg alone measures apprx 3-1/2"T x 2-1/2"D.

355. Sterling Silver Egg, Warsaw, Poland, circa 1883
Beautiful egg features delicate sterling wirework with overlaying ribs and scrolls. Top and bottom feature cabochon settings with stone. Hinged lid snaps back to reveal a small arrangement of a blossom, centered with another stone, and two leaves. Hallmarked on egg and stand with assayer's initials in Cyrillic "S Sh" and silversmiths Cyrillic initials "S B". Measures apprx 3-1/2"H x 2"D. Matching stand features a round bottom again set with a light blue/green stone, four foliate braces, and round base.

356. A Russian Enameled Egg by Pavel Akimov Ovchinnikov. St. Petersburg, circa 1908-1917
Multicolored shaded cloisonné enamel leaves and flowers on stippled background with raised relief bees. Flower centers decorated with cabochon rubies with visible inclusions. Interiors are gold washed. Maker's initials of P.O. for Pavel Ovchinnikov in Cyrillic, and assayers hallmark, right profile of woman wearing diadem. Apprx 2-3/4"T x 2"W. Comes with small tripod stand.

Sterling silver egg features a geometric incised design and eight applied crests of imperial Russia. Once top is lifted off, a small church structure is revealed seating a round burmese ruby at each of the four corners. Hallmarked, possibly assayer Andreì Antonovich Kovalskiì (Postnikova-Loseva # 2109) and dated 1879 along with sterling mark and unknown city mark. Measures apprx 2-3/4"H x 2"D. Egg accompanied by scrolling tripod rest.

Set of fabulous matching tea spoons. Each features a white beaded boarder encircling a scrolling pattern in light blue, dark blue and shimmering orange on backs of bowls. Twisted handles feature enameled detailing around tip. Each apprx 4"L. In original wood box with sage green velvet lining.

359. A Russian Enameled Spoon by Gustav Klingert, circa 1908-1917
A Russian bride portrait spoon with elaborate pastel painting in enamels with oval cartouche for portrait. Colors include a dark green background with flower leaves in bloom in pastels. Round shallow bowl with gilt interior. Tapering handle with twist design, terminating with finial-crown design in enamels. Cyrillic letters of GK in a square cartouche (Postnikova-Loseva #3905). Assayer hallmark not found, possibly over-polished on handle then re-gilt as gold appears to be in very nice condition while the twisted handle has apparent losses and wear. Apprx 7-3/8"L, bowl apprx 2-1/2"D.

Tiny personal salt sits on three round feet and features delicate enamel work of two blue beaded borders and curvy floral designs. Measures apprx 1"H x 1-1/2"W. Accompanying spoon features a gold wash, twisted handle and organic enamel work on back of bowl and tip of handle. Measures apprx 2-3/4"L.
