Plaster sculpture depicts a seated valiant figure. He wears a (detachable) cap and carries a shield. His long thin proportions are similar to the thin figural sculptures of the ancient Etruscans or else modernist sculptor, Henry Moore. Rectangular base mounted to block of wood. Measures apprx 11-1/2"H x 6"L x 4-1/2"W at base. The artist graduated in 1958 Minni College of Art, and lived in Italy for three years on Fullbright scholarships. He studied foundry work on first Fullbright. He returned in 1961 to America starting teaching at the Universtity of Illinois and at the Baltimore Institute of Art. 125/225 Sold $253.00 back to catalog |
