625. A Mexican Saltillo Sarape, circa 1920's-1940's

Beautiful rug made with vibrant colors and precise, tiny stitches. Features a central medallion marked by zig-zag lines and an stripped pattern alternating between bands of teal and gradated colors. Wool on cotton weft, very tight weave. Fringe is knotted cotton string. Used as a sleeping blanket or else worn for warmth and light weight these colorful throws are also known as "fiesta blankets". Measures apprx 95"H x 37-1/2"W.
