| 628. A Navajo-Serape, 1920's-1940's
Soft blanket features a pattern of eight serrated diamonds in black, purple, orange and gray. Central section is filled in red and edges are cream, marked with brown boxes. Ends feature stripes of red, grey black, blue and pink. Tight wool weave. Corners have tassels. Colors and patterns show influences of the Navajo Germantown blanket and the Mexican serape, thus a cross of the two cultures which populated the New Mexico land area in the early 1800's.
