| 4. Avar Culture Bronze Strap End, circa 9th Century A.D.
A bronze strap end with relief work. Pierced end has open hole, the other with original pin. Overall green patina, apprx 1-7/8" x 5/8". The Avar culture consisted of Slavic nomads living near the Danube River basin during the ninth century AD. Sister pieces from this collection were donated by the owner to the Antiquities department at Harvard University. 300/500 Sold $69.00 back to catalog |
