Figs from first edition of "A Curious Herbal ", published in London, circa 1739. Copper-plate engraving with original hand-coloring, framed under glass. Image depicts a cross section of the mauve color fruit as well as a rendering of fruit on the fig plant. Worded descriptions on bottom of page. Plate numbered 125. Paper measures apprx 12-1/2"H x 8-1/2"W. In white mat and gilt wood frame, entire item measures apprx 21-1/2"H x 17-1/2"W. Verso has information about the print and artist.
