"Grigoryev, born in Kishinev, Moldova, calls his art "nostalgic realism". He specializes in portraits, still lifes, and nudes painted in a somber palette dominated by charcoal and pewter-toned grays, soft browns and pale flesh tones. His surfaces are enamel smoothe, without the slightest hint of a brush stroke. Grigoryev has had solo exhibitions at galleries in Aachen and Baden-Baden, Germany, and has sold works to public collections in Moldova and Ukraine. He also lists former Soviet president Michael Gorbochov as a collector of his work". From the Plain Dealer, Friday, February 19, 1999.
