237. A Fine Shibuichi, Gold and Silver Box, Japanese, Meiji Period
Silver body with polished black lacquer on interior. Lift-off top is a finely carved shibuichi panel. Applied decoration of two a adult cranes with a young crane in solid silver, gold and copper. Silver dots are inlaid amongst the carved breaking surf. Panel is signed on lower right. Bottom edge is stamped with the jungin (silver) mark. Interior with two compartments. Measures apprx 3"H x 9-1/2"L x 7"W.

238. Kiseruzutsu, Japanese, circa 19th Century
A muso zutsu type case in black lacquer. The pipe case has an applied metal figure of Tekkai Senin blowing out his soul. Above him are lightly carved pine boughs. A tiny metal depiction of the soul appears at the top of the case. Measures apprx 8-1/2" L.

239. Kiseruzutsu, Japanese, mid 19th Century
A muso zutsu type case in black lacquer. The pipe case is engine engraved with straight and zig-zag lines and decorated with an applied depiction of a Noh dancer in multi metal. This dancer is exquisitely made of shakudo with inlaid gold, silver and shibuichi. Measures apprx 8-1/4"L.

240. A Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case, Japanese, circa 1920
On front of case, an extremely well done silver and clear enamel sho (good luck). Flowers are are depicted in multi-colored enamels among other silver blooms. Back is engraved with a view of Mt. Fugi. Push button latch. Marked in side of lid. Measures apprx 3"H x 2'W.

Knife handle inlaid with shakudo and gold. Front depicts a shrine at Itsukushima. Reverse is incised and gold filled, depicting a view of the island. Edge is gold engraved "Geishu Itsuku-Shima no zo Jirasima ju Yasui Takekiyo". Measures apprx 3-7/8"L x 2-1/2"W. Signed Yasui Takekiya saku. Rare Japanese carved elephant tusk. Hollow tusk decorated with two dragons; an adult and a young dragon are carved with exceptional detail and artistry. Dragons depicted writhing amongst carved clouds. Both dragon's eyes are inlaid with horn. Measures apprx 40"L.
