A humorous carving depicting the Oni giving Shoki a back rub while Shoki smokes a pipe. Both partaking of tea. Eyes accented with black pigment. Signed Kyiuichi. Measures apprx 1"H x 2-1/4"W. The term Okimono relates to free standing display ornaments generally carved in ivory.

Earthen ware figure with pigments. Standing male attendant with clasped hands wears a long formal robe, and upswept hair. Figure features a peaceful round face. Traces in brown and black pigment especially around middle section. Glazing most likely being ancai or 'three-colour' glaze technique. Provenance: Acquired by Mrs. Carol Fisher-Sawyer-Bauman, (an associate of Swiss psychologist Carl G. Jung during WWII) purchased this from a Zurich art dealer who possibly acquired it via the Silk Route trade passage from China. Swiss-German printed newspaper stuffed inside for transport to the U.S. Measures (with out square wooden base) apprx 27-1/2"H.

Round insert from a Ruyi Se. Low relief carving features the figures of a bat or "awabi" as a symbol of good luck and three peaches as a symbol of longevity or fertility. The nephrite is a very light lime color with cloudy white striations and has an oily finish. Measures apprx 4-1/4"H x 4-1/4"W.

Silver tri-part hinged bracelet features a central mutton fat jade carving in an animal shape. Bracelet with decorative enamels including bats and grass. Metal (untested and no marks found) is a fine mesh structure. Clasp with safety chain. Measures apprx 7" around x 1-3/4"H.

Functions as a snuff bottle as woman's head lifts off and is attached to a small spoon. Measures apprx 2-3/4"H x 2"W. 2) Thin rectangular Chinese string box is intricately carved with tiny scenes of daily life, figures move among pagodas and tree branches. Measures apprx 4-1/2"H x 3"L x 1/4"W.
