258. Blue and White Bowl, Chinese, Kang-Hsi Period, circa 1700 Delicate footed bowl features a flared interior rim decoration of blossoming cherry branches with a reclining figure in the centre. Exterior features a landscape populated by courtly women engaging in outdoor activities such as watering plants. Exterior of rim marked with clouds. Bottom has apocryphal mark of the reign of Cheng Hua and remnants of a red export wax seal and a tag from a gallery in Toronto, Canada. Measures apprx 4"H x 8-1/2"W. 264. A Pair of Japanese Gilt Vases, circa 19th Century Vases have scenes of a lovely woman dressed in a kimono. She carries a basket in her hands and looks back over her shoulder. Second vase features a scene with a royal woman seated in a throne with a flower-adorned sceptor. Remaining sections of the first vase feature a scenes of a mother bird drinking from a pond and the second vase has baby birds in a nest, both with various flowers and foliage.
