137. Five Engravings from Les Fleurs Animees, circa 1847

Lot includes two title pages of "Les Fleurs Animees" or "The Flowers Personified" by J.J. Grandville in 1847, the English version published by R. Martin, NY. Lot also with three illustrations from the book: "Hearts Ease", "Madagascar Periwinkle", and "Tobacco". All hand colored steel engravings on paper that measure apprx 10-1/2"H x 7"W. Lot also includes fashion plate of Clotilde of the Ballet of Paris from "Journal des dames et des modes", 1798, Paris. Copper plate engraving with hand coloring on laid paper, framed under glass. Image measures apprx 6-3/4"H x 4-1/4"W. In ivory mat and wooden frame, entire item measures apprx 10-3/4"H x 8-3/4"W.
