| 280. A Set of Georgian III Period Silver Service, Attributed to George Hunter, circa 1763-64
Lot includes nine skewers with meat knives and seven spreaders. Sterling silver handles with fish scale detail, terminating in a shell motif and metal blades. Hallmarks vary; spreaders are fully hallmarked and initialed whereas the larger knife and accompanying skewer are marked "sterling" and "Co.". The makers hallmarked initials, believed to be that of George Hunter, who entered into the books in 1748.
